The new lodge was finally dedicated and opened in January, 1999. The Archives is continuing to be a real challenge... There are over one hundred thousand 3x5 member cards to be sorted and re-filed and other records. Our original estimate of several months to complete this job was way off. Many of the member cards were heavily damaged due to improper storage over the years and some actually disintegrate in our hands.

We meet on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays at 7:00 pm. Many of the members start arriving around 5:00 to play pool, darts and cards; or just to relax in front of the TV with a cool one, after a hard day at work. We often serve food or snacks before the meetings.

Bingo, legalized in Missouri in 1982, has proven to be a terrific fund-raiser for non-profit organizations such as ours. It also provides an on-going project for our members to get involved with. It’s a lot of fun for our volunteers and patrons alike. Because of bingo, we have given more money to charitable causes in the last 10 years than we gave in all the previous 113 years of our existence.

Sicilian Lodge supports numerous individuals and charites in the Kansas City area and sponsors several youth ball teams. We also support several national charities, including Special Olympics, which is the official charity of the Pythian Order. We can do lots of good work, for a lot of different people, through our bingo operation... and we have! In return, we receive the satisfaction of knowing we helped someone.
